  • explain the functional anatomy of the musculoskeletal system concerning the different parts of the skeleton, its joints, as well as the origin, insertion, and function of muscles,
  • conduct basic movement analyses where movements are described in terms of phases and positions,
  • explain biomechanical principles relevant to the coach’s ability to analyse movements in sports.

Course Content

The course covers the functional anatomy of the human body and biomechanical principles in relation to movements in sports. Special emphasis is placed on helping students understand how they can use their knowledge of functional anatomy and biomechanics to conduct basic movement analyses of common movements in sports.

Assessment

  • Individual oral presentation
  • Invigilated written exam
