Learning Outcomes

On completion of the course, students will be able to:

  • describe sport pedagogy as a field of knowledge from a national as well as an international perspective,
  • account for teories about learning in relation to sport,
  • describe what makes sport possible for different groups in society and analyse youth sport as an environment for development in relation to basics for inclusion,
  • discuss the role of sport coaches as mediators of norms in relation to equality and inclusion.


Course Content

The course includes the following knowledge areas: national and international perspectives of sport pedagogy as a field of knowledge, theories about learning in relation to sport, youth sport as an environment for development, stratification in sport based on basics for inclusion, and, the role for the sport coach as a mediator of norms in relation to equality and inclusion.

 

Assessment

  • Individual oral presentation
  • Individual written assignment
  • Invigilated written exam

 

Grades

The grading scale used for the final course grade is U–VG.

Grades are reported as follows:

  • Policy for youth sport - 2.5 Credits | U–VG
  • Learning in sport - 2.5 Credits | U–VG
  • Sportpedagogy as a field of knowledge - 2.5 Credits | U–VG

Other Information

This course cannot be counted towards the same degree along with courses that have equivalent content.

If the student has received a decision/recommendation granting study support from Dalarna University because of a disability, then the examiner has the right to offer an alternative examination arrangement.
