Learning Outcomes

After completing the course, the student must be able to:

  • be able to explain and visualise, based on a data set, a variable‘s central tendency and dispersion with the help of a statistics program
  • have basic knowledge of methods for collecting both quantitative as well as qualitative data
  • be able to produce, compile, present and defend a scientific project
  • have the ability to critically review scientific papers.

Course Content

The course deals with scientific writing in connection with a sports science project as well as content from the various components of the sports science project. During the course, students calculate data using adequate analysis tools, which are then compiled and presented in the form of a sports science project. In the course, students must also critically review other scientific work. Basic calculations of descriptive data in SPSS are carried out, and students acquire basic knowledge in interviewing and observation as data collection methods.

  • Defence of their academic paper in sports science and peer review of the academic paper of another student
