Learning Outcomes

On completion of the course, students will be able to:

• apply basic knowledge in the subject areas of training and competition theory to optimise the training and competition process in judo
• reflect on the basic principles for performance development and physical training in judo
• solve specific tasks that concern the optimisation of the process of training and competition for different groups of active judokas

Course Content

The course covers theoretical and practical methods for planning, implementing and evaluating training and competition processes in judo. There is particular emphasis on the application of sports physiology and biomechanical research on the optimisation of the training and competition process. Special focus is placed on analysing judo from a technical and tactical perspective with the aim of clarifying the work requirements of judo.
