Learning Outcomes
The goal of the course is that the student will develop advanced knowledge in one or more linguistic areas. After completion of the course, students should be able to:
- reflect on literature in French within a linguistic area and make use of various linguistic analysis
- formulate, argue about and discuss different issues within a linguistic area
- use and analyze a corpus or sequences from different corpora within a linguistic area
- in correct academic French in writing and orally explain the latest research in a linguistic area in a coherent, methodologically and terminologically customary manner.
Course Content
In the course one area in French linguistics are looked at and analyzed using different texts, corpora and scientific works in French. The student selects in consultation with the teacher a subject to specialize in.
Assessment
The course is assessed partly through written assignments and active participation in seminars and partly through the writing of an essay of about 7 to 10 pages.
Forms of Study
Lectures and seminars in which students are expected to participate actively.
Grades
The Swedish grades U–VG.
Prerequisites
- 90 credits in French, of which 30 credits on Undergraduate level 2, or equivalent knowledge.
