Summary in English

After completion of the course, the student shall be able to:

  • explain basic concepts necessary for the construction and function of a solar collector in a heating system, as well as explain the choice of materials for a cost-efficient construction.
  • show understanding of system aspects influencing the efficiency of a solar collector.
  • perform basic calculations and simulations with respect to the design of solar heating systems.
  • plan and prepare the construction of a simple solar collector.
  • prepare an evaluation of a constructed solar collector, from both a technical and an economical perspective.
  • communicate the work orally and in written form, with focus on structure, argumentation and problem-solving.

The course includes basic knowledge of and methods in solar energy and technologies. The course will include optimization and design of a product for energy transformation. The results will be communicated both in written form and in spoken form.
