Summary in English

This course examines the basics of TV journalism. News production is problematized and students relate their practical experience to theories of values in terms of news items and television as an arena for political debate. The ethics of the press and freedom of speech are studied as well as the main features of Swedish television history.
Students practice conducting interviews, writing and reading speaker texts, taking photos and editing television news. In addition, students receive training in the various professional roles that exist in the field of multi-camera production from an editorial point of view and through workshops and production of a simple news magazine. Particular emphasis is placed on the roles of picture producer, editorial assistant, photographer and editor.
