Learning Outcomes

On completion of the course, students will be able to:

  • problematise principles that are the basis for legal and sustainable organisations and management in health care servises
  • problematise and reflect on different theories on organisation, leadership and management
  • demonstrate a deepened understanding of teamwork, communication and working relations within and between different parts of an organisation
  • in a written report, define capacity development within global sexual and reproductive health in health care settings in low-, middle- and high-income contexts.

Course Content

In the course, students study theories of organisation and leadership and management so as to develop strategies for teamwork and quality improvement in health care.

The grading scale used for the final course grade is U–VG.

Grades are reported as follows:

  • Assignments, seminars - 7.5 Credits | U–VG

Entry Requirements

  • A Bachelors degree 180 credits in a social sciences/health sciences/economics main field of study and English 6

Other Information

This is a course in the Master‘s Programme in Global Sexual and Reproductive Health.

This course cannot be counted towards the same degree along with courses that have equivalent content.

If the student has received a decision/recommendation granting study support from Dalarna University because of a disability, then the examiner has the right to offer an alternative examination arrangement. The examiner takes into account the objectives in the course syllabus when deciding whether the examination can be adapted in accordance with the decision/recommendation.
