Learning Outcomes

On successful completion of the course, students will be able to:

  • independently and systematically search for relevant scientific articles to identify research areas and formulate questions that are relevant to research in the field
  • analyse the quality of studies conducted on the basis of both quantitative and qualitative methods
  • apply advanced skills in the design of a scientific study, data generation, and analysis of qualitative and quantitative research
  • argue for the use of ethical principles in various research situations.

Course Content

In the course, research methods and ethics in the research process that are relevant to the research field of global sexual and reproductive health and rights will be studied.

The grading scale used for the final course grade is U–VG.

Entry Requirements

  • A Bachelors degree 180 credits in a social sciences/health sciences/economics main field of study and English 6

Other Information

The course is part of the Master‘s Programme in Global Sexual and Reproductive Health.

This course cannot be counted towards the same degree along with courses that have equivalent content.

If the student has received a decision/recommendation granting study support from Dalarna University because of a disability, then the examiner has the right to offer an alternative examination arrangement.
