Learning outcomes for the course

The overall objective of the course is that the student acquires in-depth knowledge and skills in the subject through focusing on theories, methods and tools in order to carry out work on change in an organisation. Upon completion of the course the student should be able to:

Knowledge and understanding

  • Describe change analysis according to a methodological approach in connection with feasibility studies and other investigations.
  • Describe how an investigator can use method- or theory-driven change management to regulate their analysis.
  • Explain the importance of processes in the business description.

Skills and abilities

  • Apply scientific approaches and assumptions that form the basis of qualitative case studies.
  • Apply different methods for business and change analysis.
  • Perform and document change analysis in projects.
  • Give written and oral presentations and argue for appropriate solutions to problems.
  • Use IT-based tools for analysis and documentation of business and change analyses. 

Judgement and approach

  • Articulate the need for change and to propose measures for change in the studied business based on the performed analysis .
  • Perform method analysis on their own project work to evaluate the implemented method- and suggest future improvements.
  • Evaluate and reflect on chosen scientific articles
