Having passed this course the student will have:
  • Basic knowledge of theories relevant to GIS.
  • The ability to make thematic maps.
  • The knowledge to build topologies.
  • An understanding of different map projections and their properties.
  • An understanding of the properties of different map reference systems.
  • Been acquainted with the most common software used for processing geographic data.
  • Learnt through practical work how to build simple GIS-systems based on field measurements.
  • The ability to analyse geodata.
  • A basic understanding of development of services based on geodata.
