Learning outcomes for the course
The overall objective of the course is that course participants develop knowledge, skills and attitudes to prepare them to work professionally as mother-tongue teachers of Russian and to be involved in the development of the subject.
Upon completion of the course, students will be able to:
- explain language development theories from a historical, social and cultural perspective
- describe and discuss key concepts in language development in a multilingual environment
- discuss how basic language skills are developed
- based on selected theories and previous research on language development, analyse and critically review teaching materials in Russian and develop their own teaching materials
- explain specific features that characterise online language teaching
- argue for didactic choices based on psycholinguistic aspects of language development.
