Learning outcomes for the course

Upon completion of the course, the students shall be able to:

  • demonstrate basic language skills (both oral and written) needed to communicate effectively in Italian in business-related situations
  • demonstrate basic knowledge of the different linguistic variations and nonverbal communication signals in formal and informal work-related situations
  • write a CV and structure a formal oral presentation of themselves
  • write short business-related texts in Italian with an adequate vocabulary and use proper etiquette for professional communication, both traditional and electronic
  • demonstrate basic intercultural competence regarding customs and manners in the Italian business world
  • account for the cultural, historical and geographical aspects of the concept “Made in Italy“ (food, fashion, design, tourism, etc.).
