In the course the students study different forms of academic writing and speaking from the perspectives of genre analysis and texts’ different structures and functions. Besides genres like the doctoral thesis and the research article, the course also deals with oral communication and research presentations in academic English. In the course the students also conduct various types of text analyses in which the language use of different institutional educational practices is investigated. During the course the students further develop their skills in using digital tools for academic writing and speaking in English.
