Learning outcomes for the course

The overall aim of the course is that the student shall become thoroughly acquainted with a limited and specific area of knowledge within the field of African Studies, in order to independently and with a high level of theoretical proficiency formulate a research situation which is relevant to a future master degree thesis.
On completion of the course the student shall be able to:

  • with a comprehensive knowledge of the literature, survey previous research within a well-defined and limited field
  • select, independently, critically and with theoretical skill, materials that are relevant for a future research assignment
  • formulate, with theoretical and analytical precision, a research situation for a future master degree thesis.
