Throughout your studies, there will be times when you need to present ID, such as when you take a written exam, obtain a university key card (passerkort) or access areas of the university that are not open to the public. In the latter case, you must also present a university key card. Your ID must be intact and valid.
For invigilated written exams on campus, your Dalarna University key card (it shows your photo) is accepted in addition to the ID documents listed below.
For library loans, Application Cards (previously LMA cards) are accepted, enabling asylum seekers to borrow material.
List of approved ID documents
Sweden and the Nordic countries
- Passport
- National ID card issued by an authority within the EU/EEA
- Driving licence issued in Sweden
- Swedish SIS-certified ID card or an ID card issued by a government authority, such as the Swedish Tax Agency (Skatteverket)
Within the EU/EES
- Passport
- National ID card issued by an authority within the EU/EEA
Outside the EU/EEA
- Passport

- Digital ID document
- Provisional passport
- ID document that has expired
- Photo of valid ID document
- Alien’s passport (främlingspass)
- Travel documents for refugees or stateless persons
- Non-Swedish driver’s licence
- Swedish Migration Agency residence permit card (uppehållstillståndskort)
