Changes to Legimus may affect access to your course literature

Changes to Legimus are being introduced ahead of the autumn semester. This may affect access to course literature for students with reading difficulties.

The Swedish Agency for Accessible Media (MTM) is changing how it provides course literature through Legimus. This is because more publishers are now making e-books available that meet the requirements of the new accessibility legislation. MTM will increasingly refer students to these accessible e-books and provide additional adaptations when needed.

This means that some course books that were previously available as audiobooks through Legimus may no longer be available or may be removed. At the same time, the library may not always be able to purchase publishers' e-books, due to costs or restrictive licensing terms.

What does this mean for you?

If you have a reading difficulty and need access to course literature through Legimus, it is important to plan ahead before your course starts.

If you cannot find the course book you need in Legimus, or if the accessible e-book does not meet your needs, please contact the library. We can help you explore the options available.

Read more about the changes on the MTM website.
