Correction and review of grades
If you want to request a correction or review of a grade, please use this e-form:
Correction and Review of Grades (blankett.du.se)
Submit the form and a copy of the exam or assignment that you wish to have corrected or reviewed. In the form, clearly explain why the grade is incorrect based on the grading criteria and expected study results.
Decisions to change a grade can only be made by the course examiner. The correction and review of grades are matters regulated by Dalarna University’s policy document titled "Regler för klagomål, omprövning och överklagan".

Change of examiner
If you have failed an examination/assessment twice, and the grades have been recorded in Ladok, you have the right to request that a different examiner sets the grade on your next examination/assessment. However, this may not always be possible: for example, a teacher with the required competence may not be available.
If the examination/assessment is part of a course whose syllabus states that the number of attempts is limited to two (for example, VFU/placements), you may be able to change the examiner after one failed attempt. A decision to change the examiner is made by the respective head of school (prefekt) at the university.
A change of examiner does not mean that the previous assessments will be regraded; rather, the change will apply only to the next scheduled examination/assessment. Furthermore, a change will not affect the actual marking/grading of the upcoming examination/assessment. The teacher marking your exam will be the same.
To allow us time to process your application, we need to receive it no later than 15 working days before the next date of examination/assessment.
The difference between the examiner (examinator) and the teacher doing the assessing (bedömande lärare)
- The examiner receives assessments from the teacher doing the assessing, considers the student’s performance, and makes the final decision on the grade.
- The teacher doing the assessing evaluates/grades exams, assignments and oral/practical components, and provides feedback to the student, but does not have the authority to set the final grade.
