Works since May 2019 as an external doctoral student at the Centre for Clinical Research on a half-time basis with research studies within my project: Development and evaluation of an implementation strategy for person-centred care of patients with gout based on national treatment recommendations.
Since my nursing degree in 2003, I have mainly worked in the profession. For 10 years I have been working as a specialist nurse at the oncology clinic at the hospital in Falun. I received my bachelor's degree in 2009 and my master's degree in 2015 when completing a specialist nursing degree with a focus on oncology at Umeå University.
Only about a third of patients with gout gets treatment in accordance with recommendations. The goal is to develop a complex intervention for primary care and evaluate its feasibility. The intervention will include nurse-led gout care.
In a first phase, interviews were conducted with patients and staff about their experiences to identify obstacles and enabling factors for person-centred care in gout. The project will contribute with knowledge about implementation of new working methods in primary care and how it can be supported and lead to a better quality of life for people with gout.
