I predominantly teach in areas of political institutions and state building, African political institutions, processes of democratization and autocratization, as well as process tracing and comparative methods.
My research is situated within the broader field of comparative politics, focusing on specific issues such as the establishment of political institutions, shifts in presidential power, and processes of democratization and autocratization.
