Maria Walla, Senior Lecturer in Mathematics Education, welcomed everyone to the Biennette, followed by an introduction to practice‑based research presented by Mattias Gradén, Development Officer at the university’s Centre for Pedagogical Development.
A keynote lecture was then delivered by Jorryt Van Bommel, Professor of Mathematics Education at Karlstad University as well as Visiting Professor with us, entitled “Challenging Students Through Problem Solving.”
Throughout the day, several different sessions were offered from which participants could choose according to their subject specialisations.
The conference concluded with a workshop on the theme of “AI in Mathematics Education – Help or Hype?” led by Magnus Fahlström and Sofia Oppenheimer, both lecturers in Mathematics Education.
We extend our sincere thanks to all participants who contributed to making our first Mathematics Biennette both engaging and enriching.
