In my role as Dean, I focus on the development and assurance of academic quality, in line with my assignments as a member of the University Governing Board and the Research Committee at the School of Information and Engineering. I have a particular teaching and research interest in supply chains.
Throughout my long professional career, I have held various leadership and consultancy roles where I have worked with development and on more general issues relating to, for example, logistics, strategy and sustainability. I have moved between the worlds of business and academia, in collaborative roles as a result of my various positions of employment at for example Innventia, Packforsk, Electrolux and Stockholm University (SU). In my long-standing involvement with global development issues within the World Packaging Organisation (WPO), I have had various roles, such as that of Secretary General and Ambassador. At SU, I worked as a Senior Lecturer in Operations Management, and I am an Associate Professor at the University of Turku in Applied Strategic Foresight.
Examples of subject areas I have taught in are as follows: SCM Supply Chain Management, Project Management, Logistics, Operations Management, Management Accounting, Entrepreneurship and Scientific Methods.
I supervise and examine degree projects at both the bachelor’s (first cycle) and master’s (second cycle) levels
My applied interdisciplinary research spans large areas and focuses on such things as packaging and packaging logistics, (last mile) logistics, strategy, foresight, sustainability and business models,
