Background

I have my early interest and educational background in media and communication, something I also combined with non-profit work as an informant and project manager. In 1995, my interest in teaching and learning made me move to Falun to study to become a teacher at Dalarna University. During my studies, I was active in the student union and handled, among other things, the graphic presentation of the union magazine. I also worked extra with the education of fellow students in computer proficiency and communication- and information technology. Immediately after my teacher studies, I got a job at the university's IT department, where I worked with support for staff and students, participated in the operation of the computer park and also started up the IT department's help desk in Falun.

With my interest in teaching and learning in combination with an interest in technology, it seemed very natural in 2001 to accept the question of being part of starting up what at that time was called the ICT-pedagogical center at the university. Today we are called NGL-Centre (Next Generation Learning Centre) and with new thinking, courage and focus on pedagogical needs we have been involved in taking Dalarna University to become one of Sweden's foremost universities when it comes to online education and learning.
