To be honoured as a guest professor/adjunct professor, you must have been offered and accepted employment between 1 November 2022 and 30 September 30 2024. You cannot have been previously honoured at Dalarna University.
The following applies if you have stated that you will attend the ceremony:
- Read the information and respect the deadlines.
- Submit text and a photograph for the ceremonial publication "Högtidsskriften".
- March 20: Attend a general rehearsal of ceremony proceedings.
- March 21: Attend the ceremony and banquet.
You will receive updates (a newsletter) from hogtid@du.se to your university email address. This will keep you updated on ceremony planning and important deadlines.
Important Dates
October 24 and November 6 – Information Meetings
We invite you to attend one or both of our information meetings to find out about the Academic Ceremony at Dalarna University and your role in this event. There will be an opportunity to ask questions. Attendance is voluntary.
November 22 – Confirm Your Attendance/Deadline To Submit Text
You must state your intention to attend the Academic Ceremony by 22 November 2024. Do this by submitting the electronic form on the following webpage and submitting your text for the ceremony booklet (Högtidsskriften). You need to be logged into the staff web to access the form:

March 20, 2025 – General Rehearsal
17.00-19.00: General rehearsal at Kulturhuset tio14 in Falun: attendees receive information about the procedures for the ceremony.
Everyone who will be honoured at the ceremony needs to attend the rehearsal.
March 21, 2025 – Day of the Academic Ceremony
Information about the event will be updated in late autumn 2024.
Registration: Ceremony and Banquet
The Academic Ceremony will be held at Kulturhuset tio14 and will be followed by a banquet at Magasinet in Falun. Everyone who will be honoured needs to register themself and all their accompanying guests to the banquet.
- The University invites honoured guest professors/adjunct professors to attend the banquet with one guest at no cost.
- You may invite two additional guests to attend the banquet at a subsidised cost.
- We recommend that guests be at least 15 years old.
Registration will open in late autumn 2024.
Dress Code: Ceremony and Banquet
The dress code is formal attire: tailcoat (with a white waistcoat and white bow tie, black shoes and black socks), folk costume (folkdräkt), uniform, full-length evening dress or ball gown. You may wear a doctoral hat at the ceremony and in the procession.
Accompanying guests can wear a dark suit (black, navy blue or dark grey) with a light-coloured shirt and tie or bowtie (any colour, but not white or black), dress, trouser suit, or skirt/trousers with a matching top, where the length of the skirt/trousers should be below the knee, or folk costume (folkdräkt). Formal footwear.
