Doctoral Insignia

Laurel Wreath

At Dalarna University, doctors receive a laurel wreath.

Doctoral Hat

If you have ordered a doctoral hat,  place it under your chair. You then wear your hat for the departing procession. Hats are not to be worn during the banquet. Place your hat order at your own expense: www.hattmakarna.se.

Doctoral Ring

If you have purchased a doctoral ring, you can wear it immediately after your degree is conferred.

Not everyone purchases a doctoral ring, which is why we have chosen to symbolise the ceremonial ritual ”Mottag ringen”. This involves the conferrer placing their hand over your left hand to symbolically hand over the doctoral ring. Place your ring order at your own expense: www.goldfinger.nu.
