Teaching takes place in the teacher programmes for elementary teachers (primary and middle school) and subject teachers (high school and upper secondary level), as well as in so-called work-integrated learning programmes where students work 50% alongside their studies. Furthermore, there are elective courses as well as Swedish National Agency for Education (Skolverket) competence development courses.
Our Mathematics Education staff’s research focuses, for example, on preschool class mathematics, physical environment in teaching, equivalence, and creative reasoning. The results of the research are used within courses and conveyed via, for example, seminar series.
The Department Director Jorryt van Bommel and Head of Subject Lotta Wedman work together with their colleagues, who consist of 2 doctoral students, 3 lecturers, and 11 assistant professors.
