The Autumn term’s kick-off for the School’s staff focused on AI within education and research.
Collegial discussions were based on presentations by the Head of School Joakim Storck, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Education Jonas Tosteby, Senior Lecturer in Law Hajo Michael Holtz and cyber security expert Krister Hedfors from Basalt AB and concerned issues such as:
- What do students need to know without AI - and with AI?
- What needs do students' future employers have?
- How can we develop our own AI competence, keep it updated, and minimise the risk of 'falling behind' development?
- How do we build expertise when AI takes over the tasks which education has traditionally prioritised?
- What needs to change within courses and programmes in order for our education to remain relevant?
- How is responsible learning promoted?
- How cybersecurity, legal and ethical aspects be handled?
