During the ceremony, new professors are installed, visiting professors and adjunct professors are welcomed, and honorary doctors and doctors are promoted. Associate professors (docents), doctors from other universities, lecturers promoted on artistic merits, and distinguished university teachers and recognised university teachers are honoured and recognised.
Inaugural Lectures 20 March 2025
New professors will share their research and experience in lectures held in the library at Campus Falun. These lectures are open to the general public, colleagues, and students.

Academic Ceremony and Banquet in Falun
The Academic Ceremony and the banquet will be held in Falun. Attendance at one or both is open to those being honoured as well as all university colleagues, each with a guest, at a subsidised cost.
Award for Collaboration - Nomination
The Academic Ceremony includes recognition for internal and external collaboration. There are two awards, one for each. These are handed out during the Academic Ceremony to individuals who have demonstrated great work in developing collaboration between Dalarna University and the public or private sectors at the regional, national, or international levels.

Held every second year, the Academic Ceremony at Dalarna University highlights and recognises the academic achievements of researchers and teachers. Dating back to medieval times, the tradition is one upheld by most if not all universities and higher education institutions in Sweden. Merging tradition with contemporary overtones, Dalarna University’s academic ceremony is held alternate years in Falun and Borlänge.
