Background

My clinical background is in pediatric care, I am a pediatric nurse and worked at the neonatal unit in Falun for 15 years, of which 10 years as head of unit. Defended my PhD in 2003 on a thesis on the development and implementation of national guidelines in neonatal nursing. Did postdoc for 2 years at the University of Alberta and then worked at Karolinska Institutet in various research positions. Started as a professor in nursing with a focus on implementation research in 2012, which I until 2020 combined with also acting as research director in Region Dalarna.

Teaching

My teaching is primarliy about thesis supervision at advanced and postgradiuate level and through teaching within the courses on implementation and implementation research at advanced and postgraduate level. I also participate in courses on scientific method within the basic education for nursing.

Research

My research program is focused on studies on implementation and knowledge use. It involves systematic literature reviews, instrument development, cross-sectional and intervention studies. I have participated in leading cluster randomized studies in various national and international contexts where facilitation and reminder systems as implementation strategies have been evaluated. In recent years, research has increasingly focused on implementation of person-centered care and I am/have been supervisor in doctoral projects in that area.
