The course introduces and examines the concept of globalisation and raises questions concerning challenges of global transformation and of global integration. Different perspectives on the significance and consequences of globalisation for the state, nation and the individual are examined in order to highlight the multifaceted dimensions of the concept.

  • Account for the core concepts and the different perspectives related to the globalisation debate
  • Show insights into the processes of globalisation and their impact on the changing role of the state, nation and the individual
  • Independently identify, problematise and critically discuss current socio-political issues related to the globalisation debate.
