Background

Before starting my studies at a university level, I completed a three-year apprenticeship as a chuchpainter, following a voluntary year in working with cultural heritage, both in my home country of Germany. After a year as journeyman I started the bachelor program "Bauen im Bestand" (building within existing structures/retrofit, incl. heritage) at the University of Applied Sciences in Münster. I then moved to Sweden and completed the Master program "Energy Efficient Built Environment" here in Dalarna.

Research

My research, as currently planned, consists of two parts.

During the first part, I am studying solar irradiance decomposition and PV simulation software performance.

Towards the end of 2024, I will start with transdiciplinary research on the integration of PV in buildings, studying the integration of PV in historic buildings, specifically churches, and perception of building integrated PV in the urban environment.
