Research
Research is central to Dalarna University and serves to ensure the quality of education that is offered by this institute of higher education.
In the world of today, new knowledge is being gained at an ever increasing pace. Consequently, new approaches are required and further research in defined areas is necessary, just as it is in broader interdisciplinary projects.
Our fields of research involve researchers from many different disciplines at the university as well as researchers from other institutes of higher education both at a national and international level. We also maintain a high level of collaboration with the private and public sectors in terms of research.
The hallmark for research development at Dalarna University is the new strategy that is in place for the years 2009-2011. In February 2011, the University Governing Board passed a new research strategy that will come to apply in 2012 and will continue to apply until 2015.
Through our contacts with researchers at other academic institutions, as well as companies and organisations both in Sweden and abroad, we contribute to the search for new knowledge and the development of research. In so doing, we also serve to improve the quality of the university's own education and research.
