Research
Högskolan Dalarna pursues research both in the traditional academic research fields and toward a closer co-operation between those fields.
Today's challenges exist on the borders between the traditional branches of knowledge, challenges which require cooperation between researchers from different disciplinary backgrounds. A large part of our research is, therefore, interdisciplinary. Dalarna University has chosen to concentrate the majority of its research on a limited number of fields.
Research in the traditional fields is important because it contributes to a fruitful exchange between different fields. It is often this field-specific knowledge which researchers then contribute to interdisciplinary research projects. Research at Högskolan Dalarna is based on a solid background in the traditional fields.
Through our contacts with researchers at other academic institutions as well as with companies and institutions in Sweden and abroad, we are contributing to the search for new knowledge and the development of research. We are also improving the quality of the university's own education and research.
