Summary in English

The course aims to deepen and develop a basic knowledge of the German language and thus be a first step in preparing the student for further university studies. Upon completion of the course the students should be able to:

  • read and discuss longer and more complex texts about topics well known to the student
  • read anc discuss the main content in short authentic texts about topics well known to the student
  • describe the main content in slowly spoken German about topics well known to the student
  • interact orally, and with some variation, in conversations about every-day topics
  • express themselves in writing, and with some variation, on every-day topics
  • demonstrate and apply a basic knowledge of the structure of the language
  • demonstrate a basic knowledge of German-speaking societies and show awareness of the importance of culture for langauge learning
  • demonstrate flexibility in the use of different learning strategies.
