Summary in English
The course aims to lay the foundation for an ability to communicate in German. Upon completion of the course the students should be able to:
- read and understand texts from different familiar every-day areas
- understand the main content of slowly spoken German in every-day situations
- interact in German orally in everyday situations
- write simple cohesive texts on known subjects
- demonstrate some knowledge of the link between culture, language and identity
- use basic grammatical terms and idiomatic expressions, and use them in linguistic analyses
- demonstrate an awareness of different learning strategies and use them in their langauge learning.
