Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of the course, students will be able to:
- reflect on the influence of media on the linguistic design of digital forms of communication based on various theoretical aspects
- problematise what the concept of text means within a digital context
- analyse digital German texts in terms of lexical, morphological and syntactic criteria
- compile a corpus of a selection of digital texts produced in an interactive situation and carry out a small-scale empirical study on this using a relevant method.
Course Content
This course involves the study and analysis of digital communication from different perspectives and in relation to different research areas in language and new media. The course examines language in several types of digital communication. Students complete a small empirical study on their own corpus using a relevant method.
Assessment
Students are assessed based on their active participation in seminars, oral presentations and written assignments.
Forms of Study
Obligatory seminars. The language of instruction is German.
Grades
The Swedish grades U–VG.

- German: Writing Proficiency II, 7.5 credits and German:The History of German Language and Culture and Academic Writing, 7.5 credits

This course cannot be used towards a degree that includes the course German: Language and New Media, 7.5 credits, Second Cycle (TY3006).
