Learning Outcomes

On completion of the course, students shall be able to:

  • use Russian grammatical terminology
  • identify and analyse Russian word classes and their grammatical features
  • describe Russian aspect use and explain the choice of verb aspect in specific examples
  • use Russian movement verbs correctly in translations and in their own texts
  • write their own texts of different character and translate authentic texts from Swedish to Russian.

Course Content

The course provides in-depth theoretical and practical knowledge of Russian grammar, and practice in the use of different syntax constructions in both speech and writing, and in the analysis of Russian language structure.

Assessment

Written assignments, active participation in seminars and a final written exam.

Forms of Study

Swedish and/or English and Russian are used as the languages of instruction. The teaching is conducted in obligatory seminars.

Grades

The Swedish grades U–VG.

To achieve the grade of VG for the whole course, students must achieve VG in both modules.

Reporting of grades:
Module 1: Grammar - 5 cr
Module 2: Written Language Proficiency - 5 cr

Prerequisites

  • 60 credits in Russian, including the course Russian II: Grammar and Written Language Proficiency, 10 credits on First cycle. No knowledge of Swedish is required
