Description
Since 1991, the Baby-friendly Hospital Initiative (BFHI) has provided an evidence-based set of standards for the protection, promotion and support of breastfeeding in maternity wards worldwide. In 2015, an expansion of the BFHI to neonatal wards ("Neo-BFHI") was developed. The aim of the project is to assess compliance with breastfeeding-related practices in neonatal wards in a set of around 30 countries/regions from all continents. Responsible for the project is an international research-group stemming from Canada and Denmark.
