One goal of the project is to gain knowledge about the technical potential for reducing the energy used in the built environment to half of the use today in Dalecarlia to 2050. A second goal is to study the implementation of energy demand reducing measures made by professional actors in planning, construction, retrofit and operational phases of the buildings. The project is a PhD project with a broad interdisciplinary character starting with a survey of technical-economic possible measures followed by a more social science approach based on back casting and action research methodolgies.
