Guest lecturer: Professor Jan-Eric Nilsson
The Economics unit at Högskolan Dalarna are hereby inviting you to an open lecture on Auction Theory. Our guest lecturer is Jan-Erik Nilsson, a previous colleague of us at Högskolan Falun-Borlänge. Jan-Erik was about 30 years ago an early adopter of the kind of research in Sweden that the Laureates of the Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel 2020 are Paul R. Milgrom and Robert B. Wilson have been awarded for.
They are awarded the price “for improvements to auction theory and inventions of new auction formats” and because they have illustrated how economic theory of auctions can be put into practice for the benefits of society. We are therefore very happy that Jan-Erik will share his experiences with us of how this theory has (and has not) been used in Sweden.
The lecture is given on Wednesday, December 9 at 13.00. It is open to students in Economics of Leadership and researchers in Microdata analysis in the Zoom-room: “Samtalsrum 117” and to a restricted share of external guests.
Please enrol for free here (if the event is fully booked you will be notified)
