Workshop 23/2: How can Dalarna University be more active in Borlänge’s aim to be Climate Neutral 2030?
Borlänge has ambitiously chosen to challenge themselves to be climate neutral to 2030. As part of this they are running an Innovation Team that has regular workshops, with the aim of working together to develop solutions and ideas to make Borlänge climate neutral.
It uses an innovation process that works with multiple stakeholders and is solution oriented. It contains representatives from the municipality, its own companies as well as private companies and civil society. Since the start of this project 30 companies have asked to join the process.
Dalarna University is also part of this team through Tony Svensson, Johan Håkansson and Chris Bales. However, we feel that there is a large potential for spin-off “projects” from the Innovation Team for research as well as student projects, and we think that it would be good to get students involved in the challenge to make their study town climate neutral.
Join this joint workshop with the Innovation Team to find out more about the challenge and processes that are active – and most importantly to start being creative in thinking about how our university can take a more active role in this adventure.
