TRNSYS is a simulation programme that is foremostly for modelling and simulating energy systems. Dalarna University is an official distributor of TRNSYS software for the Nordic countries.
TRNSYS is used by engineers and researchers around the world to validate new energy concepts. It is used for modelling everything from domestic hot water systems and simulation of buildings with their auxiliary systems to control strategies, resident behaviour patterns and alternative energy systems like wind power, solar energy and solar PV cells.

Standard Components and Weather Data
TRNSYS has a library of standard components big enough to get started with modelling and simulation. Over the years, a set of other components and alternative libraries have been created by users. Links to some of the most known ones are found below.
TRNSYS can read different types of weather data files. A starting kit is supplied with the standard installation. An extended library can be installed if required.

TRNSYS licenses ordered through SERC are activated when you fill out the field below with your email address and the code you see upon starting the program. An activation code is shown that you must copy and paste into the program dialogue. Use the same email address as when you ordered the program.

Here you can find a demo version of TRNSYS 18.
The demo version is valid until September the following year and can be downloaded again an unlimited number of times for renewal.
