Teachers and Researchers

Our teachers and researchers come from many different English-speaking countries, such as Australia, England, Jamaica, New Zealand, Northern Ireland, Scotland, and the US but also from Greece, Russia, Spain and Sweden.

Our Courses and Degrees

With us, you can earn a three-year BA degree with a major in English and an MA degree in either English Literature or Applied Linguistics. We also offer courses within teacher education at all levels, as well as English for academic and specific purposes.

Our Research Specialisations

Research in the department is conducted within two: Intercultural Studies and Teaching and Learning. Our staff teach their research interests and are active at international conferences and workshops.

DUCIS

Dalarna University Centre for Irish Studies (DUCIS) is the first centre for Irish Studies in Sweden. It plays a key role within NISN, the Nordic Irish Studies Network, and publishes the peer-reviewed Nordic Irish Studies journal in cooperation with NISN.

Cooperation

The English Department cooperates with programmes and staff at the Falun and Borlänge campuses, as well as provides education and support to external organisations.
