Learning Outcomes
On completion of the course, students shall, in acceptable French, be able to:
- describe the history of the European Union (EU)
- describe in brief the EU‘s largest institutions
- describe and discuss important aspects of the EU in the present day
- analyse short texts from different genres that address the question of the EU
- understand, speak and write technical language in French that refers to the EU.
Course Content
The course involves study of the history and activities of the EU.Through the use of texts and other media, language study, mainly EU non-fiction written i French, comprises a component in the course. Students will work on both their written and oral language proficiency.
Assessment
Continuous assessment of active participation in seminars and written assignments.
Forms of Study
Lectures and obligatory seminars. The language of instruction is French.
Grades
The Swedish grades U–VG.
Prerequisites
- General entrance requirements and French B/French 3 at Swedish upper secondary school, or equivalent knowledge. French 3 can be replaced by French: Basic course II 15 credits at Högskolan Dalarna
