Learning outcomes for the course
On successful completion of the course, students should be able to:
- demonstrate in-depth knowledge of a selected research area within either Chinese literature, linguistics, culture studies or business culture
- define a research topic within the selected research area and design a study plan that can be carried out independently within a defined time period
- carry out a research project with an appropriate choice of research method and/or theoretical application
- present in writing, and argue for, their study results in correct academic language
- produce a complete research paper, in Chinese or English, and using correct formalia
- present and argue for his or her study in spoken Chinese at a high level of communicative competence
- give constructive criticism of other scholarly work and handle criticism from others.
