Learning outcomes for the course
The overall goal with the thesis is to give students the opportunity to apply and deepen previously acquired knowledge and skills by conducting a scientifically based study that give the student deeper knowledge and skills in the thesis subject.
After completing the course, students should be able to:
Knowledge and understanding
- demonstrate knowledge regarding research strategy, data collection and analytical methods and relevant research in the field of Informatics
- Skills and ability
- identify, formulate and argue concerning a problem within the subject of Informatics
- plan and conduct literature reviews related to the problem formulated
- plan and conduct a scientifically based study, ie, choosing strategy, data collection and analysis method, based on a problem
- Present their findings in an oral presentation and in a written report
- use different perspectives to see the problem from different perspectives, , argue for the chosen method, and apply an ethical relation manner towards those affected by a scientific work
- Demonstrate the ability to complete tasks within a given timeframe
Judgement and approach
- analyze and discuss the results of studies related to a problem
- evaluate and give constructive criticism in a thesis work
- critically review and evaluate their own academic work and provide examples of the methodological options that might possibly have been improved the work
