Learning outcomes for the course
After the completion of this course the student will be able to:
- Explain diabetes regarding patophysiology, symtoms, prevention, prognosis, and diabetes-related complications.
- Identify individuals with diabetes as well as diabetes-related comlications.
- Assess treatment among adults living with diabetes type 1 and type 2.
- Demonstrate an understanding of adults living with diabetes related to their living conditions.
- Assess needs of self-management among adults living with diabetes during different phases of life.
- Identify need of support among adults living with diabetes during different phases of life.
- Support self-management decision-making among adults living with diabetes during different phases of life.
- Identify the role of the diabetes nurse in relation to different health-care professions.
- Be informed about the Swedish National Diabetes Register as a basis for quality improvement.
