Upon completion of the course, the student shall be able to:
demonstrate good knowledge of the history of Islam in Africa
demonstrate in-depth knowledge of the relationship between different Islamic orientations, and their relation to surrounding societies in Africa
demonstrate comprehensive understanding of relevant theories on the roles of Islam in history and society in Africa
demonstrate the ability to independently and critically interpret and analyse processes, mechanisms and strategies within different orientations of Islam in Africa
communicate relevant theories and knowledge within this field.

Bachelor Degree of 180 credits in the field of Humanities, Social Sciences or Education and English B/6 from Swedish upper secondary school or equivalent knowledge. No knowledge of Swedish is required.
