Communicating Research

The University's research should contribute to the growth of knowledge and benefit society. To achieve this, our researchers need to have a visible place in the academic world and the public arena.

Communicating the results of our research is an important part of the University’s commitment to open knowledge. It aims to make research accessible and transparent to both other researchers and society at large. If you do research with us, you will find information and advice on this webpage about how you can communicate the results of your research, which will help to promote its usefulness and value for society.

Your Digital Presence

There are a number of channels that researchers themselves can use to make their research visible. Below is a description of how you as a researcher can do this using the channels that the University offers.

Research Groups at du.se

The webpages for each of the University’s research groups are there to promote the research carried out within its Schools by presenting the group’s work in a clear and consistent way. These pages aim to make it straightforward for external visitors to benefit from both the research and expertise of the University’s research groups.

On the following webpage, you can find information about setting up and updating a research group webpage:

Profile Page on du.se

On your profile page, there is place for your name, a headshot photograph, your contact information, and a list of your registered projects and publications. You can also use your profile page to provide a personal summary of your academic career and research. If anyone enters your name in an online search, they will likely arrive at this page first.

Update your personal profile page by searching for your name here on the staff website and clicking on Edit profile (Redigera profil).

Assistance from the Office of Marketing and Communication

The Office of Marketing and Communication is tasked with promoting the University's research. The office is responsible for the planning and implementation of the University's research communications strategy. In addition, it provides strategic assistance with communication issues. We invite our researchers to contact the Department of Marketing and Communication with any questions.

Feel free to send tips and suggestions to the Office of Marketing and Communication so that a communications officer can communicate your news item via the most appropriate channel(s).

The support that the Office of Marketing and Communication can provide for research communication explained in the text belowe is based on the steering document "Basutbudet för forskningskommunikation".

New Research Project

By planning your communication strategy at an early stage, you have a greater chance of reaching your target audience with your research.

Project managers of an approved research project: You can inform the Office of Marketing and Communication that you have a new project and request a discussion about a news item. In dialogue with an assigned communication officer, you will identify needs and discuss opportunities for communication. The Office of Marketing and Communication will discuss with you the alternative marketing and promotion opportunities.

Remember that as a project manager, you are responsible for registering your project in the research database. It will then be available as its own webpage on du.se and appear on the profile pages of the named researcher(s).
