He has led and participated in several national and international research projects with funding from, among others, the Swedish Governmental Agency for Innovation Systems, the Swedish Council for Working Life and Social Research, the European Commission, the Swedish Work Environment Fund, the Swedish Research Council for Health, Working Life and Welfare, and AFA Insurance.

Currently, he is involved in two research projects. The first one,  A Comparative Study of the Long-Term Experiences of Restructuring: Structural Influences on Successful Transitions to Sustainable Working Lives, runs over three years and investigates dismissed steelworkers' path to new labour market positions from a perspective of life course theory and institutional theory.

The other research project, Restructuring in the Hospitality Industry in the Wake of Covid-19: Consequences for Individuals and Work Environments, is a three-year research project that investigates the restructuring that takes place in the hospitality industry in the light of covid-19, and its consequences for personnel and their working environment. The analysis is focused on issues pertaining the loss of jobs, future opportunities in the labour market, the psychosocial work environment, and the collaboration between employers, trade unions, and other relevant actors.
