Nordic-Baltic Net work Dental Hygiene Oral Health
The primary purposes of the Nordic-Baltic Dental Hygiene-Oral Health project are to promote collaboration within the Dental Hygiene Programmes and to develop the programme and the subject of Oral Health Science which is the main subject of the Dental Hygiene Programme. The subject is a relatively new academic subject and the Dental Hygiene Programme is a relatively small programme. Collaboration with other universities is an essential part in the increasing of the academic level of the subject of Oral Health Science.
There has been a Nordic Nordplus Network “Oral Health” since 1993. Partners, since 2009 , are Dental Hygiene Programmes at the University of Dalarna, Sweden; Oslo University, Norway; Turku University of Applied Sciences, Finland and The Dental Hygienists Academic School, Riga Stradins University, Latvia.
The network aims to compare and to develop the curriculum of the programmes and strengthen the academic level. The network also aims to broaden, and as well as to deepen knowledge of culture in the Nordic -Baltic countries. In addition the network aims for both the teachers and students to improve their language skills.
The network activities are:
- Networking including curricula development and exchange of knowledge and experience
- Job sharing in a web based distance course
- Teacher and student mobility
- Dissemination of knowledge and experience.
